I’ve got a couple of challenges I’m taking par I’ve got a couple of challenges I’m taking part in this month.
This one is with Kino MacGregor so am looking forward to being part of a fun yoga challenge. Today’s pose is downward dog, typically a transition pose for me and one where an adjustment feels oh so good.

Also on the insight timer I’m getting involved with a sleep challenge.

What have you done that has challenged you?

Yoga, sleep, meditation and a work life balance are what keep my mind healthy.

Happy Monday and hello to March. This morning yo Happy Monday and hello to March.

If you’d be keen to keep up to date with with the yoga news please drop me a message with your email and that way you’ll never miss out.

How’s your Monday shaping up? I actually like Mondays, a new week, a fresh start, who knows what could happen?

Plus that means we’re one week closer to more freedom heading our way.

I typically start my week with a gentle bit of yoga, meditate and feel grateful for everything I have and prepare my intentions for the week.

Have a beautiful day x
Happy Full Moon everyone. Searching for a yoga c Happy Full Moon everyone.

Searching for a yoga class can be a task, there are a million plus classes out there on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and everywhere else. And there are lots of yoga teachers. So many styles with their own names. And so much more to consider when choosing a yoga class.

My offerings are from energising Hatha Flow to more relaxing Restorative. On my booking site and website there are full details on what to expect from each class.

My classes are all themed around feeling good, moving in a way that will help release tension from the body while helping to find quiet in the mind at the same time.

Each month has a theme for the Hatha Flow and Yin Yoga is based on the Seasons and meridians from Traditional Chinese Medicine.

So if you’re looking for any of the above drop me a dm or check out my website
www.wiselittleyogi.com

If you would like to join my mailing list get in touch and I’ll keep you up to date with class updates, events and anything else important.

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, doesn’t it The sun is shining, the sky is blue, doesn’t it just make you feel better?

This is what I was speaking about in class today. When the weather is nice people smile at each other and say hello and good morning but when it’s raining we are rushing about trying to not get soaked, head down not looking at anyone.

I love the sunshine, I feel a million times happier when it’s a nice day. However when it’s rainy and grey (90% of the time in Scotland) you do have to find the sunshine in your heart and in the heart of others and let your sunshine out like sunbeams. Picture a care bear! lol 😂

No matter what you feel remember that you are someone’s sunshine. You brighten their day. So shine your sunbeams bright this weekend and always .

For anyone looking for a yoga glow, I got you. Drop me a message for more details. I’d love for you to join me.

Here we are mum and daughter enjoying our practice at @lotuspadyoga hosted by the lovely Wendy.

I enjoy adjust from time to time in class. What about you? Are you a fan? Or prefer to do your own thing ? Whilst teaching in class I will consider and will offer assists if students feel that would be ok for them.

Wendy was the first person to assist me while I went from forward fold to tripod headstand! It was scary but also ace at the same time. That moment was really positive and empowering as I became more confident with my yoga.

I hope to be back one day Wendy for a nice class outside.

Also I do think that extreme caution should be taken as really we don’t want to push our bodies past the natural range. Jason Carandel speaks about this in his podcast episode.

On a side note- each day is one step closer to going to Ibiza x

Do you agree? I have ambitions of great things f Do you agree?

I have ambitions of great things for my yoga business. Last year I started making plans for a weekend retreat here in Aberdeen but due to ‘you know what’ that never quite made it to fruition. But maybe this year there is more hope.

Also I’d love to host a retreat in my favourite place, Ibiza. I know a lot of nice places to go and I’d like to think I’d make a great host. I’d take all my lovely yogis and we’d have a blast.

Eventually I’d love to have a home overseas to spend a lot of time at with my lovely Ross.

Until then I’ll keep manifesting, working hard and building connections with my lovely yogi family. While continually improving my yoga teaching.

What are your biggest dreams?

No one ever regrets starting yoga and I’ve got a No one ever regrets starting yoga and I’ve got a good selection of classes at times to suit. Plus if you don’t make it you can either reschedule yourself using my booking app, or you can join in from the recording!

So if you want a slow class but with a deep stretch then a yin class would suit.

If you wanna build some strength, develop balance and focus your mind then Hatha flow would be for you.

Feeling like a nice slow flow would be just the ticket then come along on Saturday.

And for the ultimate chill join sleepy Sunday club.

All are welcome along to my classes and am more than happy to talk if you have any questions or concerns.

My inspiration. There are many wonderful people My inspiration.

There are many wonderful people who inspire me daily, but I thought I’d share this today. On my yoga journey I’ve met many many inspirational people but her are a few I’d like to shard with you today. I’d love to know who inspires you.

In yoga I have met many inspirational people who have helped shape my yoga journey, guide me and support me as well as providing inspiration to keep me motivated.

In this picture is Kino MacGregor who was probably one of the first yoga teachers who’s tutorials I followed and found inspiration from. Her story of how she came to yoga and her dedicated practice is really inspiring. She makes everything look easy but has clearly put in years of work to get to where she is now. It was a pleasure to meet her and her husband Tim Feldman at a workshop in Edinburgh in 2018, she was really lovely and the workshop was great. Getting a hug was a special moment for me.

Also in the photos are Kata and Erno (and Raja) . Kata is my Yin yoga teacher who lives in Ibiza and runs amazing TT. Am hoping to go back and do further training one day....
Her teaching style is just lovely and her words and capacity to hold space is outstanding. Am very lucky to have found her and to be her student.

These other 2 photos are of my first Ashtanga and power yoga teacher here in Aberdeen, the amazing Holly Edwards. If you can get to her class do it. She has always been so encouraging and pushed me when I’d not have pushed myself. Had it not been for her I’d have never managed to headstand. She kept encouraging me in her kind and fun way. Her classes are always challenging and rewarding. Her practice is so strong and she is dedicated which comes across in her teaching.

So thank you to these amazing ladies for inspiring me to be a dedicated yoga student and teacher.

Affirmations, do you use them? What are yours? T Affirmations, do you use them? What are yours?

This month the affirmation for class has been ‘I am stronger than I think’
This affirmation has helped through the challenging strengthening parts of this months practice.
Mental strength, emotional resilience as well as physical strength can help in those tough times, however sometimes being strong enough to show vulnerability can really open the doors to stepping into your truth. Both equally requiring strength.

Self limiting beliefs can hold us back from achieving so much. Something I struggle with is believing I can do things. I procrastinate, which is essentially not helping future me out at all.
I heard that we should all make decisions that our future self will thank us for.
Not 100% with the mindfulness mindset there (I think) but it makes for an interesting thought.

How do you use your affirmations? For future you or for the moment or something else?

If you’ve not done any yoga before you’d be made to feel most welcome as part of this lovely yoga community that we have.

Being part of a community is a great bonding experience and as humans we all crave connection. Especially right now.

I love being part of the yoga community, feeling and enjoying this amazing shared practice.
As well as this I enjoy being part of other communities with my other job as a class teacher.

How do you keep your connections and sense of community?

There’s always room for one more in my class. 🤗🙏🏼

How are you looking after yourself today? Let m How are you looking after yourself today?

Let me know in the comments.

I’d love to see you at Yin Yoga at 6pm.

So why yin?
➡️ it’s relaxing 😌
To be more specific the breath practice helps move into the parasympathetic nervous system which is the repair and restore system. Typically we are locked in the sympathetic nervous system (stress induced, over stimulated, anxious, fight, fear, flight mode) helpful when running from a sabre tooth tiger 🐅, but that not happening so much right now.

➡️ it’s healthy for your body to hold deep stretches. Not at full capacity, but at a comfortable place. Get into those tight spaces and really allow them to soften.

➡️ it can be a gateway to mindfulness which is great for a busy mind. Focussing on being present with whatever arises for you. Not thinking ahead or overanalysing anything that’s already happened. Just being. Being present.

➡️ it builds your connection with your inner self. In the stillness of the poses it really gives you time to be away of how you’d body really is feeling.

➡️ it’s fun!

So if this sounds like something you’d enjoy then book yourself a space for tonight’s class.

The sun is shining, there’s blue in the sky. It’s a beautiful day here in Aberdeen.

Seeing and feeling the sunshine makes a huge difference to my day and my mood.

Could Spring be coming? I do hope so. Have you seen signs of spring yet? I’ve seen some crocuses and snowdrops.

Hope you’ve got sun in your heart wherever you are.

Self care rituals How seriously do you take your Self care rituals

How seriously do you take your self care? Do you do something for yourself everyday? It can be tough to make time so there are a few things that you can do here that cost no money and are accessible to us all. Self care doesn’t have to be a week at a 5* spa (but we can dream) and is vital to our well-being.

I miss so much teaching my self care Sunday classes, it was just so lovely to hold the space for everyone.

I enjoy meditation, yoga and fitness as part of my self care. In the summer I like gardening and lying in the sun reading.

I’d love to know what you do for your self care practices!

Also if any spa hotels are reading this I’d be delighted to come for a spa break! 😉

Chair pose Love it or loath it? I like to experi Chair pose
Love it or loath it?

I like to experiment with the variations of it. Sometimes arms apart, feet apart, hips lower, with a twist, on the tip toes or maybe hands to prayer wishing it would end! Lol 😂

The quote I like is that yoga is for everybody but not every pose is for each body. I feel there is a lot of truth in this. Everyone’s body is different and it’s important to respect limitations, particularly if injured or dealing with a past injury.

This pose is good for building inner heat, strengthening the glutes and quads, develop core strength amongst other things.

So if you’d like to get of your chair and join me for a chair pose then come along to Hatha flow
Tuesday 6-7pm
Wednesday 7:10-8:10pm
Friday 10:30-11:30am

Can’t wait to see you there.

The search for happiness....... Where do you thin The search for happiness.......

Where do you think true happiness lies? What beings you happiness?

The last podcast I was listening to was speaking about finding joy, and one theory is that we are most happiest at our youngest and oldest years. The bit in the middle can typically be the most stressful with working, paying bills and managing family matters. This is just one theory of course.
To experience happiness it is also necessary to have experienced sadness, anger and all the other emotions beyond those from the movie inside out. ( I love that movie btw)

Also what is happiness, a feeling or a state of being or an emotion? Maybe it is just as simple as eating a bit of chocolate.

I’d love to hear what your happiness is, or where it comes from?

Just now I’m looking for the happiness in each day. Connection and helping others is when I feel most happiness. Teaching yoga and practising yoga makes me heart smile too.

To quote the song
‘Don’t worry, be happy’

#tbt2017 When the lovely Mel and me were planning #tbt2017

When the lovely Mel and me were planning our trip to the Om yoga show.

Was so excited to go along. I made a few misunderstanding as usual with the schedule and what I thought was Ariel yoga turned out to be acro yoga. A hilarious and awkward experience where everyone around us was flying and tumbling and we were huffing and puffing and laughing out heads off. The poor folk who got paired with us, there was no chance we were pulling off the fancy flying moves.

Also got to try lots of other yoga styles, buy a few bits for my teacher training and the amazing Chocomint tea from Yogi Tea
(still a favourite tea of mine)

Always love a trip to Glasgow with the bestie. The details are fuzzy but we likely had amazing food at Mono and 13th Note.

Weekends away are just the best. Hopefully 🙏🏼 we can get them again sometime.

Dreaming of road trips, retreats, yoga holidays and getting in the sun!

Have you ever been to the om yoga show? It’s a lot of fun.
