A gentle meditative style of yoga class that focuses more on releasing and letting go. Most postures are reclined or seated, working on opening energetic channels (meridians) in the body as described in traditional Chinese medicine. Each meridian has a pair of yin and yang organs related to it as well as an element and a season. Postures are held for 3 minutes or more to work beyond the muscles and into the deeper connective tissues fascia, ligaments and joints. Props can be used to modify and support this practice. Beyond the physical level it is deeply relaxing and allows for a strong nurturing connection inwards.
